I’m really happy to share that one! The only other alternative that I’ve come across that looked (kind of) promising was osmand, but organicmaps puts that one to shame as far as looks go. It functions really well too, I think it’s just a better app in general actually.
No, I don’t think I replaced it. If I remember correctly, I think I ended up having some small nitpick with it, so I uninstalled it or did something different. I still remember it fondly, however.
-Organic maps
Beautifully designed open source navigation alternative. It’s not perfect, because I still have to do some auxiliary searching occasionally, but I’m really enjoying using it instead of Google
-Quickweather
Another beautifully designed app. Not perfect, but just really nice to look at because of how well it was done. I still use myradar as my main driver, admittedly.
-ViMusic
Again, one of the most beautifully designed apps I’ve ever seen. It has a few bugs, but I really enjoy using this one. It uses YouTube music as the back end.
-Newpipe and freetube
Either of these work pretty good as a better way to watch YouTube videos. I’m glad people are fighting back against Google’s bullshit…
-Eternity
This is currently my favorite Lemmy front end. I’ve tried many so far and this one seems to have the best functionality and customization too.
I remember that one! I used it for quite a while on one of my old devices
I’ve never heard the term teetotal, and it sounds pretty lame. Straight edge is way more common where I’m from, and I’ve never taken it to be related to the punk scene, but maybe that’s just because I don’t know. I’d probably just politely decline, and then if they keep asking or pushing just tell them you’re straight edge.
A+ on your creative writing prompt title. I kind of want to read the rest of the story. Lol
Toys r Us. Air hogs
Thank you for posting this. Instance shopping is kind of cumbersome if you have to seek out all of your communities on each one…
Look into Alexandrite if you’re interested. It does what I was asking.
Yes! Alexandrite is precisely what I was looking for, thank you!
Done, sorry about the mistake!
I do have the side buttons, they’re set to automate control and shift though. I use them pretty often, so not much chance of changing that anytime soon…
My g502 mouse would solve this problem, but it is at home. 😕
I wish I knew how to hack some code in, that would be badass! Looks like a feature request will be the best route for me. Thanks.
Seems like a really cool concept. Something I’d be curious about is if there are ways to encourage people to support the authors as well.
