You know what else is small brain thinking? INCORRECTLY being pedantic about word choices. That’s the part that pisses me off the most with these apologists. They are literally incorrecting people using words properly.

I cited the definitions of “murder” above. Explain to me, with reference to these definitions, how the term “murder” doesn’t apply. (Hint: this is not possible.)

I quoted the dictionary definition of murder above. Can you point to the part that says governments can’t murder?

Where, precisely (and be detailed, with a map) do you think Hamas should be locating itself in Gaza that doesn’t have civilians all around them?
You go get a map of Gaza and point it out. I’ll wait.
You’d think that it would be considered more brutal given that the people committing the killings aren’t even exposing themselves to a threat.
Cowards, in a word.
Oh well. I can’t cater to the stupid and the insane. I’ll live where I don’t need a car to get basic amenities of life and use the money I save to live grandly. They can spend the money, time, and health on living with unnecessary vehicles until they die out.
Build fifteen minute cities, in short. I live in one, for all practical purposes, and it’s GRAND!
My father was a German emigrant. He became a Canadian citizen. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces. He was stationed in Germany, where I was born.
Take note of that: I was born abroad because my father was stationed abroad at the behest of the Canadian government in whose service he was.
Because of sheer luck in timing, my son, born in China, is an automatic Canadian citizen. But my son’s children would not be because I was born abroad … and again I was born abroad because my father was following the orders of the Canadian Armed Forces while serving his adoptive country.
The world is a metric fuckload more complicated than the simplistic view you’re seeing here. Perhaps you should, you know, listen instead of speaking.
Thankfully it sounds like this ruling will correct things for my son.
Quislings piss me off. Rabble.ca pisses me off. This is not a coincidence.
The Earth is burning around us as a slo-mo climate catastrophe builds up unstoppably. Fascists and other authoritarians are ramping up to take control of people around the world (with a major party in Canada, even, hiring an open fascist into its leadership). Canadian essentials prices are reaching the point where the practically the entire nation is finding it increasingly difficult to meet the basic needs of food and shelter. There’s a genocide going on in Gaza after a mass murder was done against Israelis. The people of Ukraine are still fighting off an invader that the world let get cocky and arrogant enough to decide to invade.
But the CBC is bravely fighting to expose a has-been entertainer.
Bravo, CBC! Only you have the journalistic integrity to do deep investigative journalism on issues that don’t matter at all! Keep up the great, tax-funded work!
You utter fucking berks.
False dichotomy.
Now try more left. And even more left. Canada isn’t a two-party system, de facto or otherwise. Stop learning from the fucking Yanks.
You vote Liberal or Conservative. That’s how.
Just ban AirBNB and other such bullshit companies from operating in Canada.
Wouldn’t it be better to boost long-term personal residence ownership? Boosting the number of people renting is just a way, it seems, of exacerbating the heart of the housing problem.
Yes.
And make no mistake. The Chinese government is bad. It’s just bad in ways that the western governments and press don’t actually give a shit about so they make up other shit instead.
Yep. Regardless of what your position is on drugs (and I’m in the “legalize and license most of them” camp), it’s well known that the Chinese government (for very valid, albeit unfortunate, historical reasons) has absolutely no tolerance for the recreational narcotics industry and that this includes the death penalty.
You’d have to be a very special kind of stupid to traffic drugs in China, or any number of other countries with similar policies.
He was arrested before the Meng thing happened, so the arrest was not dubiously political. The upgrading to the death sentence, however, was very clearly a pressure tactic of dubious politics.
