At the start it was better, but for about a month now I think there have been more negative interactions than positive ones.

The biggest problem imo is that since Lemmy’s userbase is mostly made up of people who left Reddit, they bring their mentality with them. And the two plaforms have hugely different userbases size wise, so if someone says something really stupid on Reddit you can ignore/ block and you can do that with 1000s of people. On Lemmy if you block 1000s of people, you basically just blocked most people who post/ comment.

Yeah thats what I meant when I said users. Would be nice to have more active users. When I made the paradoxgames community I think I was kinda lucky since at that time I could make a lot of posts about upcoming games. But smaller games/ communities dont have that luxury, so I guess they feel a bit more deserted.

Ok now I’m just starting to ramble. So yeah having more actives users is a must if people want Lemmy to feel nicer.

Yes it does need more users. If you are not into Linux, Politics, Tech, and Cats, your feed looks much less populated. I’m not saying that Lemmy needs to have hundreds of millions of users, but it would be nice for most people if the userbase grew more.

Now I’m sure that the number of users is lower than a few months ago, but I wonder how many people are just lurking, never commenting/ posting.

I would love to use it, instead of YouTube but two things hold me back.

1. Sometimes I like to just browse the home page and watch some recommended videos, and Freetube does not have that.
2. Blocking channels with Freetube is kinda bothersome. Having to copy-paste the name of every channel I don’t want to see is tedious, especially since I use the Blocktube extension, and at this point have hundreds of channels blocked. I would be happy if there was a similar option in Freetube, or if I could import my blocklist from BlockTube.
