To my knowledge the recent update on the reddit megathread was because users were getting malware from one of the links. Its why I moved here, actually.

However, that list, while still mostly good, has been slowly turning… Not great.
Lemmy.dbzer0 has a list they maintain that is almost identical but better maintained. I’d post a link but idt it will work for you if you’re not a member of the instance.

2·2 months agoI’m a beginner currently doing exactly the same thing, plus a but more.
For the server I’m using Proxmox as a hypervisor, which let’s me experiment with various OS’s as I choose. For my phone, I have a pixel with GrapheneOS, which I love.
Giving it to China for free isn’t selling. Its just called “investor relations”

Idk about the original GUI but its still not great on Linux. That said it does work.

Word. This seems to make my ARR stack easier. I’ll probably get some torrents running before too long but for building a library, I’m sticking with Usenet. Then I’ll go back to torrents and things like soulseek for more obscure or individual things

Usenet. Like a little over $100 a year for a news host and an indexer or two and you get quality music downloads of basically anything, depending on your indexer. Once you’ve got most of what you want, just stop paying and you still have your music or TV or w/e you download, and there’s no real need to worry about a VPN.

Lots of people do know a lot about these things and were previously hindered by an inability to manufacture the drugs themselves.
There are plenty of docs and chemists who would willingly do this underground because they actually want to help people.
Could one not theoretically self-host a PW manager that also keeps a local copy of the database for times with no internet?
Idk if that doesn’t exist yet or what, and there are plenty of other reasons against self-hosting a PW manager but that seems like a logical work-around for that particular problem. Keep your access when the internet is down, and keep your data out of third party control.
