This game had a bit of everything. Good defensive plays. Situational hitting. Clutch hits. Come from behind win. Just Chapman and Kirk who didn’t get in on the hit parade. Kikuchi had a rough start, but he even battled and made it to the fifth. The bullpen and defence came through to hold on to the tie and eventual lead. Huge shoutout to Swanson for getting his second save of the year and coming through clutch even after giving up the 3 run double. If we can keep playing this type of baseball in the second half we’re a team to be feared.

I love weekend home stands. First pitch gets earlier by the day, and they’re predictable times. Faboo

Especially when after this homestand we’re headed out west. I’ll only see the afternoon games in Seattle and LA.

Yeah. I’m already 1 hour ahead of the AL East. West coast games basically don’t exist for me.

Jano just casually hitting a bases clearing double.

The legend of Clutch Jansen continues…

I would normally be worried, but for some reason I am 100% confident this win is already locked up. Even without Romano, Swanson’s got this.

I can’t believe Vladdy got there, and I can’t believe it popped out of his glove. That was nuts.

Whether it was reflexes or muscle memory he had that if he’d have just squeezed the ball. Flapped his glove open and closed to try to secure it in the pocket and it popped out there.

Fuck, I love that. Situational hitting. It’s a tie game, just score a run, don’t swing for the fence. Vladdy had a plan and executed.

These late game rallies have been a real breath of fresh air.

Here’s hoping that it’s the Jays, and not the Dbacks.

I’ve never thought of Mayza as the type of pitcher who fields their position particularly well, but that was an incredibly athletic play to end the inning there.
