I have a theory that there is a impossible trinity (like in economics), where a food cannot be delicious, cheap and healthy at the same time. At maximum 2 of the 3 can be achieved.
Is there any food that breaks this theory?
Edit: I was thinking more about dishes (or something you put in your mouth) than the raw substances
Some popular suggestions include
- fruits (in season) and vegetables
- lentils, beans, rice
- mushrooms
- chicken
- just eat in moderation
Edit 2: Thanks for the various answers. Now there are a lot of (mostly bean-based) recipes for everyone to try out!
Also someone made a community for cheap healthy food after seeing this topic!
Banana.
1st time the US military was stationed away from borders was in Nicaragua to protect fruit plantation monopoly. 1st time it was involved in overthrowing a government and install a vicious coup was in Guatemala, to protect the banana monopoly UF had formed. The banana we know and eat worldwide (almost) is a British patent, but it may be vanishing in this next decade. We may be the last to ever eat a banana.
Plantains are not bananas, and there are literally hundreds of relatives to this fruit/vegetable but very few are sweet and taste like a banana.
Nothing wrong with the fruit itself but the economic/political structures that formed to have it mass produced are some of the most evil days capitalism ever created. Millions of peasants were sentenced to artificial poverty so they can become slave workers to this monopoly.
Sugar was bad as well till this Cuban and Chilean duo disrupted the party the Eur-American trash were having.
Radioactive.
And so is your brain.
Mmmm… Brains…
